New deer movement system: Livestock Information Service

The Livestock Information Service (LIS) is the new method for recording the domestic movement of deer in England. This has now replaced the old ARAMS system that was in effect. It is a requirement to register all domestic deer movements through the LIS, either by registering for an online account and recording it electronically, or submitting a paper form, similar to the previous ARAMS form. More information about the reporting of movements can be found on the LIS website or on the gov.uk website.

Upcoming changes to ARAMS Movement System

The BVA and BDVA have been informed that there is soon to be a change to the current Animal Reporting and Movement Service (ARAMS) for the notification of movement movement of animals, including deer. Whilst the changes have not yet come into effect, there is likely to be a change this year with a migration to the new Livestock Information Service (LIS). The announcement was made in the Vet Record news in February this month. The BDVA will keep members informed of when movement systems are updated.
